Police shooting in Rillieux: Abdelkader Lahmar (LFI) denounces "false accusations" by Mayor Alexandre Vincendet

Following a controversy surrounding a police intervention, MP Abdelkader Lahmar has accused the mayor of Rillieux, Alexandre Vincendet.
The intervention of the municipal police and the Specialized Field Brigade (BST) on the evening of July 16, in the Semailles neighborhood, continues to oppose local elected officials. In a press release, MP Abdelkader Lahmar accuses the city's mayor, Alexandre Vincendet (Horizons), of " spreading false accusations rather than assuming his responsibilities ."
In the columns of Le Progrès , the councilor had castigated the left-wing opposition, which had sent him a letter with the subject: "Unjustified use of a firearm by a municipal police officer - Request for immediate investigation." To support their claims, the elected officials relied on two videos published on social media. They show a BST car and a municipal police van being stoned, but above all, they hear a shot twice, probably from a flashball, as subsequently mentioned in the detailed police report of the evening of July 16.

" The mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape publicly accused me of having relayed the information that the municipal police had fired live ammunition. This statement is false and misleading ," defends MP Abdelkader Lahmar. The opposition on the municipal council (of which he is not a member, but notably composed of LFI) nevertheless questioned, in their letter: " the available videos and the testimonies collected suggest, given the loud noise, that it was a case of live ammunition being fired ."
